Much to my own surprise I suddenly found myself excited about a cat café, in the middle of Tokyo.

Our discovery tour of Tokyo was abruptly interrupted when my good friend Nobuko pointed at a fourth or fifth floor of a building. She said she wanted to visit the “MoCha Cat Café”, which had just opened a year ago near the Harajuku Station.

My friends know how much I like Lilou, our cat at home. But visiting a cat café?

Soon I understand what it was about, and got really enthusiast. (I must confess).

The whole interior has been created in a cat-friendly way. Guests pay for the time spent inside. If you need affection from a cat but don’t have space or time to keep one yourself, this is the place to be.

The MoCha Cat Café website can be found here.

I was on a two-week cruise from Hong Kong to China, Korea and Japan, with ms VOLENDAM from Holland America Line.
